It’s Very bad: Heung Min Son reacts angrily to what happened at Tottenham while he’s away
Heung-min Son claimed he was’very unhappy’ when Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the FA Cup last month.
Spurs were eliminated in the fourth round by current champions Manchester City on January 26.
The new World Cup format is really insane!
Ange Postecoglou’s team was thoroughly overwhelmed on the night, as a late Nathan Ake header propelled Pep Guardiola’s side to victory.
Of course, Tottenham was without a few crucial players on the night, including Heung-min Son, Pape Matar Sarr, and Yves Bissouma.
All three players were on international duty, with Son attending the Asian Cup and Bissouma and Sarr competing in AFCON 2024.
Now, Son has acknowledged that he was devastated to watch Spurs lose the FA Cup while he was overseas last month.
Son’very sad’ after Tottenham’s FA Cup elimination.
Speaking to NBC Sports following Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Brighton, Son outlined Spurs’ goals for the rest of the season.
“It’s very sad when I was away we went out of the FA Cup and now we have only one game in a week, so it’s kind of now you have to see the reality and give the best,” he remarked.
“There are just a few moments till the conclusion of the season, but we don’t want to speak about the future right now; we just want to give it our all as a team and see where it leads us.
“We can’t promise but we will do our best to make it something special.”
The FA Cup offered Tottenham’s best opportunity of winning silverware this season.
Postecoglou’s team were knocked out of the League Cup in August, and winning the league championship this season would need something absolutely remarkable.
Tottenham were far from their best against City last month, and they certainly missed their star Son.
The 31-year-old has an excellent record against Guardiola’s team and is often a source of frustration for the Premier League winners.
Nonetheless, Postecoglou’s first season has been encouraging so far, as Spurs are firmly in contention for a top-four finish.
