Tottenham now moving swiftly to sign complete World Cup playmaker in summer

Tottenham Hotspur are “moving” quickly on the prospective summer acquisition of a foreign midfielder known for his flexibility.

According to trustworthy media sources, Tottenham’s transfer market preparation for 2024 is already well started, despite the fact that January has only just ended.

According to FA registered middleman and prominent Lilywhites insider Paul O’Keefe, Barcelona star Raphinha is one of many alternatives being “explored” at Tottenham for later this year. Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham has virtually agreed to another club deal.

Summer additions Micky van de Ven and James Maddison have been huge successes, and they look to be perfect for Ange Postecoglou’s fierce, high-pressing style of play.

Tottenham’s rising status as a football club has seen them overtake Chelsea as London’s wealthiest team. They also beat off European powers like Bayern Munich and Barcelona for the January additions of Dragusin and Bergvall, so the future seems promising.

Taking this into consideration, it will be intriguing to watch how they approach the summer market, and fans may be relieved that Tottenham are already getting organised on that front with months before the season reopens.

Tottenham did not sign a new senior midfielder last month, despite constant connections to Chelsea star Conor Gallagher, among others. Tutto Juve has reported that Postecoglou’s team is interested in Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.

Tottenham is “moving swiftly for Koopmeiners

The Dutchman, who competed in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, is thought to be on Paratici, Levy, and Lange’s radar. According to Tutto Juve, as translated and posted by Sport Witness, Tottenham are “moving” early for Koopmeiners, with the possibility of signing him this summer.

They aren’t the only ones, however; Premier League rivals Manchester United and Serie A heavyweights Juventus are also expected to bid for the £51 million player this summer.

Koopmeiners has made 19 Serie A appearances for Atalanta this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists, and former Netherlands international Ruud Kroll has hailed his ability to play as a playmaker.

“Koop is an excellent player. He has international experience and is the starter for the Dutch national team,” Kroll said.

“I can see him doing well at a large club. Juventus or Milan? He would be very beneficial to both of them. Koopmeiners may play in any position in the centre of the pitch, including playmaker and midfielder. He is a complete player who would be beneficial to any coach, even Allegri.”
