This season, Tottenham Hotspur is still in the running for a coveted Champions League berth and may perhaps win more thanks to Ange Postecoglou’s outstanding performance.
Spurs, who now have 44 points in the Premier League, are only two points behind Aston Villa in fourth place and five points behind Arsenal, their rivals from North London. Spurs are poised to finish in the top four.
Gabriel Agbonlahor, a former Villa striker who is now a commentator, offered his thoughts on the competition for the fourth slot in the English premier league.
Although Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal are seen as championship contenders, Agbonlahor thinks that a good showing in the second half of the season by Tottenham or Aston Villa might upset the status quo.
Agbonlahor voiced his thoughts on talkSPORT, siding with Ange Postecoglou’s team to defeat his old team and secure the fourth position.
Agbonlahor recognized the difficulties that both sides have but emphasized Tottenham’s potential, especially now that important players like Bissouma, Son, and Maddison are back.
He declared:
“Injury, exhaustion, and playing in Europe—the Spurs aren’t playing in Europe—will be the deciding factors. It will benefit them. We have replays of both cups on Wednesday at home against Chelsea, who are still in the Europa Conference League.
“Some of these players have been worn out in recent weeks; they needed a little respite, which is what they got in January.
“I believe they can, but I also believe Spurs will win. I do believe that Maddison will be included once Bissouma and Son return. All I can say is that Spurs will finish in fourth position. However, I believe Villa will place fifth.

Tottenham Hotspur has kept itself in the hunt for the top 4 this season despite dealing with injuries, suspensions, and player absences for international duty.
The North London team is now in a position to finish above Aston Villa and maybe even fight for the championship thanks to Richarlison’s outstanding performances, the signing of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin in the previous month, and the return of James Maddison and Son Heung-min.
