Romano shares big update: Deal to now proceed, if all goes to plan

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provides a significant update on Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz, who has been the subject of interest from La Liga side Sevilla.

Initially reported to be considering an offer from Sevilla for a loan deal until the end of the season, Veliz was reportedly keen on the move to secure regular playing time.

Recent developments reveal that Veliz is now in Sevilla, preparing to undergo medical tests. Fabrizio Romano shared the update on social media, stating that the medical tests are a crucial step, especially after a recent injury for the Argentinian striker.

If the medical examination progresses successfully, Sevilla is expected to proceed with the loan move. Importantly, there is no option to buy included in the deal, and Veliz is anticipated to return to Spurs in June.

From a strategic standpoint, this move appears to benefit all parties involved. Veliz, a talented striker, will have the opportunity to play regular football at a high level, contributing to his overall development.

At Tottenham, securing consistent playing time might have been challenging given the existing attacking options, including Brennan Johnson, Richarlison, and Heung-min Son, who can all operate in attacking roles.
