Pierre Emile Hojbjerg confirms decision on January exit from Tottenham
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has officially stated that he will remain with Tottenham Hotspur beyond the conclusion of the winter transfer window.
Despite being linked with Atletico Madrid and Juventus due to his limited playing time under Ange Postecoglou, with just five starts in 21 Premier League appearances, Hojbjerg’s lawyer, Lars Halgreen, confirmed the player’s focus on helping Tottenham.
Halgreen emphasized that Hojbjerg never sought a transfer, expressing his commitment to the team and his ambitions with Tottenham and Denmark.
On Deadline Day, Hojbjerg humorously confirmed his lawyer’s statement, reinforcing his dedication to Tottenham and his determination to finish the season strongly, contributing as much as possible.
Despite his reduced role this season, Hojbjerg emphasized his belief in his ability to contribute to the team’s success, emphasizing that the driving force behind his commitment is the purpose of fighting for a collective goal. He underlined Tottenham’s ongoing fight for something meaningful.
Speculation arose linking Hojbjerg’s future at Tottenham to the pursuit of Conor Gallagher.
However, the potential £60 million valuation for Gallagher proved to be a stumbling block, leading to the suggestion that Hojbjerg’s stay is not contingent on this transfer.
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he doesn’t anticipate any further signings before the transfer window closes, indicating his satisfaction with the current squad at his disposal.
