Postecoglou discusses how Werner and Dragusin have settled in at Spurs

At his most recent press conference, Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, was asked how his new players, Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, are getting along. It sounds like they are doing great at their new club.

Spurs have been busy this month, getting two new players before the end of the transfer window. The club has also made smart additions to key parts of Ange Postecoglou’s team, as planned.

Timo Werner was the first player to join. He came from RB Leipzig on loan for six months. Spurs will pay the player’s wages and have a clause in the deal that lets them buy him for up to £15 million (Sky Sports).

Soon after, they beat everyone else to sign Radu Dragusin, a highly rated Romanian defender from Genoa. It cost Spurs £21.5 million to sign the 21-year-old, and they paid another £5.2 million in add-ons (Sky Sports).

Both Werner and Dragusin have done a great job at Spurs.

We haven’t seen much of the two of them yet. Werner started the game against Manchester United almost two weeks ago and set up a goal on his debut. Dragusin came on as a replacement in the second half.

But Postecoglou has seen a lot of his new players work and had good things to say about them at his press conference today (via Football.London).

He said, “They’ve done a good job.” You can only judge them by how they train and how well they adapt to training. Both have done a great job of changing and fitting in with the boys.

“They walked into a good group that will help them get used to things quickly. I know that our club is also working hard with them off the field to get them used to things, so they’ve been great, they’ve been fine.”

In Our View

It makes me happy to see these two work together more. Werner looked lively against United, and he could be a threat this weekend against City. Dragusin might have to wait a little longer now that Romero and van de Ven are back, but he will still have plenty of chances to play this season.
