I could have signed for Tottenham and I made a very big mistake
The Tottenham deal that never went through that could have made a big difference in their Premier League situation as cult hero thinks back on big choice
Over the years, the Premier League has had a lot of foreign players who have shown off their skill and charm. Fabrizio Ravanelli is a player who might not get as much attention as other players.
The Italian forward played in England’s top league for three years, though his first season there was only supposed to be one. Middlesbrough pulled off a huge coup when they brought Ravanelli to the Premier League in 1996. He had just won the Champions League with Juventus.
He had a great season on Teesside, and after a £7 million move, he scored a hat-trick on his first game against Liverpool. Both regional cup finals were played by Boro. In the FA Cup, they lost to Chelsea, and in the League Cup, they lost to Leicester. Even though they won a lot of cups, Ravanelli couldn’t keep the club from being relegated, so he moved to Marseille in the summer of 1997.
When the silver-haired scorer went back to England in 2001, he played for two years with Derby County before being dropped with the same team. But instead of going to France, he could have stayed in England longer than his first year with Boro.
She says that the Traitors cast felt “threatened” by her.
Ravanelli talked about it all in an interview for Bitcoin Casinos. He said, “Bryan Robson came to me after Manchester United won the Champions League in 1996. Robson was my football hero.” He came to Milan to talk to me. I was on vacation when we met. He made a great impact on me, and I knew right away that he is a great person.
“I respect Bryan Robson because he is a great person and a great manager.” It made me sad that my time at Middlesbrough came to an end after only one year. But I wanted to go to the 1998 World Cup after we were relegated.
“I had to play with a lot of people because I was on the national team.” After I left Middlesbrough, I had two or three options: English clubs Liverpool and Tottenham, and a French club Marseille.
“Maybe I was wrong; if I could go back, I would change my mind.” Instead of going to France, I would stay in England because their sport was the best in the world and stays that way. Going back to my old country was a huge mistake.
