Tottenham reject Saudi offer for Postecoglou favorite now £25M man next to leave as cull continues
Reports say that Tottenham is open to offers for Ryan Sessegnon this month, but they have already turned down a bid for a second star who is linked with a move away.
Sessegnon hurt his knee badly at the start of the season, so he hasn’t had a chance to really show Ange Postecoglou what he can do.
After getting better from his injury, the 23-year-old played in his first game of the season, a 1-0 win over Burnley in the FA Cup earlier this month.
Since then, though, Sessegnon hasn’t been named in the Spurs team because he had another setback.
People in England thought the left back was one of the best young players when he played for Fulham, but his move to North London has not gone well.
Destiny Udogie’s recent play makes it unlikely that he will get into Postecoglou’s starting XI any time soon. It might be best for his future to leave Spurs because of this.
Now, news from Spain says that Tottenham is “willing to listen to offers” this month for Sessegnon. Some say they might also think about loaning him out if they can’t find a stable partner for him.
In 2019, Spurs paid £25 million to get Sessegnon from Fulham. For a final deal, they will try to get as close to that price as they can.
This month, Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Ivan Perisic, Ashley Phillips, Djed Spence, and Sergio Reguilon have all left Tottenham. He could be the eighth player to leave this month.
Tottenham “turn down offer” for Emerson Royal
One player that Postecoglou doesn’t want to let go of this month, though, is Emerson Royal.
This season, the Brazilian has become a very important player for Spurs. So far, he has played centre back, left back, and right back, filling in for sick players across the defence.
Reports quoted by Football.London say that Tottenham have “rejected an offer” from Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia for Emerson.
Radu Dragusin has joined the team, and Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are now also available, so the 25-year-old may not play as much.
But Emerson will still be an important part of Postecoglou’s team for the rest of the season.
Because Ben Davies got hurt again, “keeping Emerson at least until the end of the season is important.” This may be why Spurs turned down Al-Nassr’s offer.
‘Another offer is coming from the Saudi club,’ but Postecoglou would have to be very interested in the offer in order to agree to leave this month.
