Tottenham forward grabs a goal and an assist, Ange need
Excelsior Rotterdam beat Heerenveen 3-0 at home on Saturday. Troy Parrot scored a goal and set up another one.
In the past few years, Parrott has been on loan at Millwall, Ipswich Town, MK Dons, and Preston North End, but he hasn’t exactly lived up to his full potential. At Excelsior, he seems to have finally grown up as a football player.
With his goal yesterday, the 21-year-old has scored six goals and set up three others in 15 league games this season. He has been a great leader for the Eredivisie team all season.
Another goal and an assist for Troy Parrott
After 18 minutes, Parrott picked up the ball on the left side and drove at the Heerenveen defense. He then made a great low cross with his left foot, which Couhaib Driouech turned in.
The loan player from Tottenham scored himself six minutes later when he waited patiently for a bad back pass and carefully put the ball under the goalie who was coming out to save it.
In Our View
Even though these goals will boost Parrott’s confidence a lot, the Eredivisie isn’t very good (especially outside of the top four or five teams), and some might even say it’s much worse than the Championship.q
Fans of Spurs shouldn’t get too excited yet because it’s still not clear if Parrott is good enough to play regularly in the Premier League.
