EPL giant fight over Tottenham marquee signing as rivals pursue deal

Reports say that important people at Chelsea are arguing about whether they should sell Conor Gallagher this month to Tottenham Hotspur.

Gallagher’s deal with Chelsea ends in 2025, so it’s not clear what will happen to him in the long run.

There was talk that the England international would leave his old club in the summer, with Tottenham and West Ham both interested, but he has been very important to Mauricio Pochettino this season.

This season, the centre defender has played 20 times in the Premier League and has been Chelsea’s captain for most of the season.

Even so, Chelsea is still thought to be thinking about selling as they try to fix their Financial Fair Play problems.

Tottenham is still thought to be interested in Gallagher, and earlier this week it was said that they are trying to reach a “agreement” with Chelsea because they want to make another “marquee signing” after getting Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin from RB Leipzig and Genoa, respectively.

Based on a story from Football London, we now know what Chelsea thinks about Gallagher. They said, “In an ideal world, the England player would want to stay at Stamford Bridge this month, and Mauricio Pochettino also wants to keep him.”

Some people in charge at Chelsea, on the other hand, think that selling Gallagher is the best thing to do. There will be many teams interested in the 23-year-old player. Tottenham is one of many thought to be keeping a close eye on his position.

Richarlison is doing well for Tottenham right now. The Brazil international has scored seven goals and set up three others in 18 Premier League games this season.

But they haven’t signed a long-term replacement for Harry Kane yet, so they are still being linked with possible strikers. Ivan Toney, who scored 20 goals for Brentford last season, has been named as a possible signing, and writer Dean Jones has said that they are keeping an eye on him.

Jones told GiveMeSport, “The first thing to look for with Toney is proof that he signs a new contract.”

“A lot of people have talked about it. But there isn’t anything set up yet that would allow him to do that.

“Then there was talk about a release clause in the new contract, which would have to be used in the summer for someone else to sign him.”
