There is talent there: Tottenham still think their 23yr old player will come good
When he signed for Spurs from Fulham in 2019, the 23-year-old was one of the most sought-after players in English football. But he’s had a lot of injury problems and has had to switch positions every other week, so things haven’t gone as planned for Sessegnon.
A lot of people have said that the left-footed player will be leaving Spurs soon, but Mike McGrath said on Last Word on Spurs that Tottenham aren’t ready to give up on Sessegnon yet because they think there is still talent there to be used.
Spurs are still hopeful about Sessegnon. McGrath told them what he knows about the former Fulham player.
“With Sessegnon, I told you off-air that France was interested, but it hasn’t happened yet. When he started playing senior football at 16, he was so good at it.” No one has told me that they think his time with Spurs is over. It’s not “what are we going to do with Ryan Sessegnon?” She said, “I still think that people think there’s talent there to be used.”
Needs to step up
Even though hearing that Sessegnon is still valued at Spurs is good news, he needs to start stepping up soon.
Without a doubt, Sessegnon hasn’t done enough for Tottenham. His deal ends in 18 months, so he’s now playing for his future.
Sessegnon hasn’t done enough for Spurs to deserve a new contract, and he needs to improve if he wants to stay at the club for a long time.
The question of Sessegnon’s ability to play is still open, but he needs to act quickly if he wants to stay at Tottenham for a long time.
