Johan Lange to seal 8 transfer deals for Spurs ahead of deadline day
Premier League teams won’t have much longer to sign new players in the January trade market. So far, it’s been a very quiet time. There are now only two weeks left to close deals before the deadline on Thursday, February 1 at 11 p.m.
All but a few Premier League teams have been quiet lately, but Tottenham has been very busy, with two new players coming in and a few players leaving. Spurs have added Radu Dragusin to their team permanently, and RB Leipzig has loaned Timo Werner to Spurs.
When it comes to players leaving, Hugo Lloris has signed a permanent deal with LAFC, Ashley Phillips has joined Plymouth Argyle on loan, Djed Spence has left Leeds for Genoa, and Eric Dier has joined Bayern Munich on loan with the hopes of signing a permanent deal.
Spurs also lost a couple of players on Wednesday. Alfie Devine’s loan stay with Port Vale was cut short, and he went straight to the Championship with Plymouth. Sergio Reguilon, who had spent the first half of the season at Manchester United, joined Brentford on loan.
So, are there any other moves Johan Lange and Tottenham could make for Ange Postecoglou before the end of the month? Scroll down to see what football.london thinks.
The new player
This month, they brought in a new centre back and attacker. Now, they need to bring in a playmaker before the end of the January transfer window. That could all turn on what happens with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future between now and Thursday, February 1, at 11 p.m.
If Spurs want to improve their centre, they should get a man who can play as a No.8. Tottenham has a lot of players who can play No. 6, so they need to find a player who can play a little higher up in the middle.
Tottenham is very interested in Conor Gallagher, and he has shown this season that he would be a great addition to their team given how well he has played for Chelsea.
Youngster with talent for the future
When Fabio Paratici bought Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie, they have really helped Tottenham this season. Sarr made a big impression in the few games he played last season. He has done even better under Postecoglou to become a key player in the Spurs team, and Udogie has done very well in the Premier League since coming back from a loan spell at Udinese.
It was clear that both players were signed for the long term because they spent time on loan with their old teams before joining Spurs. This is a model that Spurs could use again as they plan for the future. People say that Tottenham wants to sign Arthur Vermeeren from Royal Antwerp. There are rumours that the 18-year-old could be loaned back to the Belgian club if Spurs made an offer.

Japhet Tanganga
Japhet Tanganga’s loan deal with Augsburg in Germany has not gone as planned as he has not played a single game for the Bundesliga club. Although the back has played in a few matches for his team, he has only made it to the bench once in a real game while healing from an illness.
He shouldn’t stay with Augsburg because it’s bad for both Tottenham and Tanganga. His loan deal will now end, so he can finish the season somewhere else. The 24-year-old does look like he will be moving to College Football with Millwall.
Bryan Gil
Recently, Bryan Gil has been getting some playing time for Tottenham here and there. But in the coming weeks, he may not have many chances to play. Werner’s arrival at the club moves him down the rankings, and Son Heung-min will do the same when the Asian Cup is over.
It’s still not clear what will happen with him at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he could leave in January for the third year in a row. So far this month, Fiorentina and Feyenoord have been linked with the Spanish player.
Ryan Sessegnon
In the next two weeks, Postecoglou and Tottenham will have to decide what to do with Ryan Sessegnon. The player who used to play for Fulham has had another difficult season because of injuries. He didn’t play again until the recent FA Cup win over Burnley.
With a little pain, Sessegnon missed the last game against Manchester United, but he should be ready for the Man City FA Cup match. Postecoglou should really watch him work out on the pitch when he gets back and then decide what’s best for the left-sided player for the rest of the season.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
The news will be all about Hojbjerg’s future for the next two weeks. It was thought that the Dane would leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer, but he never did.
This month, Hojbjerg has been linked with a move to Juventus. Napoli, another Italian team, has also been linked with the 28-year-old. Since the player’s deal ends in the summer of 2025, it makes sense for Tottenham for him to move there for good. If he does leave, Spurs might come back to the market for another player.
Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman
This month, Tottenham has already seen some changes in their goalkeeping staff. Young player Josh Keeley joined National League team Barnet at the beginning of the month. This came after Lloris left N17 after 11 and a half years with the club.
Since Tottenham has four goalkeepers for the first team, either Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin could leave for a short time if the right deal comes along.
Academy Players
In the last two weeks of the transfer window, some of the club’s bright young players may go on loan to help them grow. It would be good for Jude Soonsup-Bell, Will Lankshear, and Yago Santiago to move away for a while.
As is always the case with loan moves, Spurs need to find the right team for their young players to grow.
