Key figures at Tottenham now want to sign unbelievable £45M player before January ends
Spurs have already made a lot of progress in the January transfer window, but it looks like they might not be done yet. Yesterday, both Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin made their starts at Old Trafford. This shows how well Spurs have been working.
It looks like Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy were on the same page at the beginning of the month, and it’s paying off. It is thought that Spurs want to bring in three players this month, so only one profile is left.
Spurs were said to be looking for a playmaker in January along with a central defender and a forward.
The Northern Echo says that top Spurs officials have already chosen who it should be.
The top people at Tottenham now want to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City to finish off a great January transfer window.
The £45 million playmaker is one of several choices being looked at. Phillips would rather stay in the Premier League than move to Serie A.
This information also says that Spurs can try to make another deal before the end of the month now that Eric Dier has left.
Of course, Phillips’s coming would really mean that Tottenham has a new goal in mind.
It’s clear that Postecoglou didn’t come to North London to lead a boring project; he has big plans.
A deal might be possible because Phillips needs to play for the first team before the Euros in the next few months.
The amount of money City would ask for the England player is still unknown, but it’s clear that they don’t need him.
Phillips, on the other hand, could make a huge difference at another top five team.
But if Tottenham were able to sign Phillips before the end of January, he might have to change his mind a little.
Some people will still be upset that Spurs didn’t win last night, but this month is turning out to be great for them.
They might not be done yet.
