Expert claims Spurs believe they have found the perfect midfielder to sign this month

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Tottenham is actively seeking the perfect midfielder to sign in the January window.

The club has already been busy, securing a loan deal with an option to buy for striker Timo Werner and signing highly-rated Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, who turned down Bayern Munich. Now, the focus has shifted to the midfield, with Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher strongly linked to Spurs.

Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, revealed that there is a genuine possibility of Spurs signing a new midfielder this month.

He stated that the club believes Conor Gallagher would be the ideal fit for the number eight position.

Despite the difficulty of the move, given Chelsea’s reported asking price of £50m-£60m, Spurs see Gallagher as the perfect addition.

However, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is reluctant to part ways with Gallagher and is keen on building the team around the talented midfielder.

Additionally, Gallagher might prefer to stay at Chelsea until the summer rather than making a mid-season move.

The situation remains complex, but Tottenham is actively pursuing the midfield reinforcement they believe will be the perfect fit.
