Tottenham have a young player who is very devastating after strong start
Brennan Johnson’s tenure at Tottenham hasn’t begun with the anticipated strength.
Despite being the club’s most expensive signing of the summer at £50 million, Johnson hasn’t had the expected impact among Tottenham’s signings this season.
However, despite his current subdued performance, there’s an underlying belief within Spurs that Johnson possesses the potential to evolve into a superstar in the years ahead.
Alasdair Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, shared insights into the club’s perspective on Johnson, expressing the staff’s genuine belief in his capability to become a formidable player once everything aligns.
“From what I understand, Postecoglou is a massive fan of his, he thinks he’s going to be a terrific young player. Yes, the pricetag was big to get him out of Forest, but there was a feeling that they were buying a player whose best years are ahead of him. With Brennan Johnson it’s deciding his best position, improving elements within his game, but there’s a feeling within the club that he could be absolutely devastating when it all clicks,” Gold mentioned.
Tottenham’s staff firmly supports Johnson’s potential to shine brightly in the future, given his array of promising attributes, notably his impressive speed.
Despite his initial challenges at Spurs, Johnson’s track record, including hitting double-digit goals for Nottingham Forest last season, suggests that once he rediscovers his confidence, his goal-scoring prowess could flourish in a Spurs team known for creating numerous scoring opportunities.
The prospect of Johnson emerging as a key player for Tottenham in the years to come remains promising.
