This season, Skipp hasn’t played a much. Throughout the Premier League season, the 23-year-old has only started once, although he has often appeared off the bench.

When questioned about his midfield player, Ange Postecoglou said that the Spurs manager thought highly of him. He affirmed that Skipp would play a bigger role in the next games and an even bigger one when Yves Bissouma is away for the AFCON next month.

As reported by Football London, he stated: “Yeah, I definitely think Skippy can play at six.” There is obviously some leeway in who we utilize there since Pierre, Biss, and even Bentancur when he returned have all been there.

Indeed, Skippy has played a significant part in our team. He has mostly entered games when we needed more energy to get further up the park, and he has done it well. However, he is capable of playing at six and most likely will.

Skipp has one more chance to shine at Tottenham

Oliver Skipp has long been seen to be a Tottenham player with enormous potential, but he hasn’t been able to live up to the hype just yet.

Yves Bissouma and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are undoubtedly in the lead over Skipp in the hierarchy. But the Mali international will be gone for the whole month of January, and there’s a potential the Dane may also depart the team next month.

As long as Rodrigo Bentancur is out, Skipp will likely start at number six for Tottenham. If he performs to his full level, he has the potential to be a star under Postecoglou.
