Pundit convinced Spurs fans paying no attention to 2023 signing

Pundit advises supporters to “trust the process” on the 2023 Tottenham signing
We are excited to have former Scotland right-back Alan Hutton join us as an exclusive writer. Every week, he will share his thoughts on the most talked-about topics at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After implying that few Tottenham fans would be personally monitoring the growth of youngster Luka Vuskovic, Alan Hutton advised supporters to “trust the process.”

The 16-year-old Croatian from Hadjuk Split was set to join Spurs in 2025 on a contract that would last until 2030, according to an announcement made back in September (BBC Sport).

The much sought-after youth made his Hadjuk debut in February, but he cannot play for Spurs until he is 18 owing to FIFA transfer regulations.

Therefore, Hutton, a former Tottenham defender who is now a BBC Sport commentator, believes that whatever enthusiasm Spurs supporters may have for Vuskovic will be contained.

Hutton told Tottenham News, “Let’s not fool ourselves—I don’t think many fans will be watching all these kinds of games. It’s a long-term investment.”

“Like me, it might be challenging to pay attention to every detail of every single player.

“They have people looking after these guys because they trust the process; you don’t see all these games, we’ll have to wait and see.”

According to a report by Football London on December 19, signing Vuskovic cost Spurs £12 million. This is a significant sum of money for a juvenile player, but if he lives up to the hype, the outlay will have been well worth it.

Vuskovic has been in six matchday squads for Hadjuk this season, although he has not yet made an appearance on the field.
