An update about Brennan Johnson’s injury suffered during the match against Nottingham Forest has been given by Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.

After taking a hard blow to the head while attempting to compete for the ball, the Welsh forward was substituted off during the first half.

Johnson was bleeding from a gash on his forehead and remained on the ground for a considerable amount of time while seeking medical assistance.

Despite his best efforts, he was swept off his feet and replaced by Oliver Skipp.

After the game, Ange gave a good report on the attacker, stating that he merely had a severe gash on his forehead and wasn’t injured enough to miss the following game.

Through Alasdair Gold, he stated:

“He ought to be OK. He just sustained a deep cut to his skull. Everything that ought to allow him entry. He had a cut on his head but no concussion.

Ange will be encouraged by this as the squad cannot afford any more injuries, especially at the busiest period of the year.
