Xavi Simons has provided an encouraging update as he begins recovery from a serious knee injury that will sideline him for months.
The Tottenham Hotspur star suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear during their 1–0 win over Wolves. He was stretchered off in the second half, and the club later confirmed the severity of the injury. Surgery is scheduled in the coming weeks, after which he will begin rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.
Despite the setback, the 23-year-old has already started light gym work, sharing a determined message: “No matter what!”
The injury is expected to keep him out for up to eight months, ruling him out for the rest of the season and likely the upcoming World Cup with the Netherlands. Speaking on social media, Simons expressed his heartbreak:
“My season has ended abruptly… I just wanted to fight for my team, and now that’s been taken away—along with the World Cup. It hurts, but I’ll keep believing and working my way back.”
Simons joins a growing injury list at Spurs, alongside players like Cristian Romero and Wilson Odobert, as the club struggles through a difficult campaign.
With relegation concerns looming, Tottenham fans will be hoping the remaining squad can steady the season—while awaiting the return of one of their brightest talents.
