Tottenham now keeping close sights on £25M player who Pep Guardiola wants badly

Tottenham Hotspur have experienced a rather inconsistent start to the season. With three wins from their first seven Premier League matches, they find themselves in seventh place, a position that doesn’t quite reflect the potential of the team.

Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham has delivered moments of brilliant football, often controlling games with fluid play. However, their lack of clinical finishing in front of goal has cost them vital points in several matches.

This inconsistency has highlighted areas where the team can improve, and the club’s hierarchy is already working behind the scenes to address these issues with potential transfer activity in the January window.

One of the latest reports links Tottenham to Samuele Ricci, a midfielder currently playing for Torino. According to Inter Live, Spurs have been monitoring Ricci for some time, with an eye on bringing him to North London in the winter transfer window.

The 22-year-old has impressed in Serie A with his performances, attracting the interest of multiple clubs, including AC Milan and Premier League rivals Manchester City.

It is believed that Ricci could be valued at around £25 million, a reasonable price for a talented young midfielder who has shown promise both defensively and offensively.

For Tottenham, however, the question arises as to whether adding another central midfielder should be a priority in January. The club already bolstered its midfield options over the summer with the acquisitions of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.

Both players have shown potential and offer depth in the middle of the park. Given this, Tottenham may want to focus their resources on other areas of the squad, particularly on the right wing.

While Samuele Ricci would certainly add quality to the midfield, Spurs may find greater value in investing in a winger who can provide competition and support for Brennan Johnson.

Several players have been linked to Tottenham in this regard. One option is Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, a young and exciting prospect who could add creativity and flair to Tottenham’s attack.

Additionally, Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze has been mentioned as a target, a player with the ability to unlock defenses with his dribbling and vision.

Eze has shown his versatility at Crystal Palace, able to operate in multiple attacking positions, which would make him a valuable asset for Postecoglou’s tactical plans.

Another intriguing option for Tottenham would be Bryan Mbuemo, who has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with Brentford.

Mbuemo’s productivity in front of goal and his ability to stretch defenses from the right wing make him an attractive prospect for Spurs.

His versatility in attack would provide Tottenham with more depth and attacking threat, ensuring that the club remains competitive across all competitions.

Ultimately, while Samuele Ricci could be a smart addition to Tottenham’s squad, the club may find that their funds are better spent reinforcing the wings.

Tottenham’s midfield is well-stocked, and their focus should likely shift toward securing more firepower in the attacking areas, particularly on the right side.

With options like Eze and Mbuemo available, Tottenham could address their current lack of consistency in front of goal and ensure they have the attacking depth required to challenge for top honors in the Premier League and beyond.

As the January window approaches, Tottenham’s decision-makers will need to carefully consider where their investment will have the most impact.

While Ricci offers talent and potential, the club’s immediate needs may lie elsewhere, particularly in the forward positions.

By strengthening their attacking options, Tottenham can push to convert their promising performances into more consistent results and climb further up the Premier League table.
