Timo Werner could be granted his Tottenham wish by Postecoglou

Timo Werner could be in line for another start as Tottenham face Ferencvaros in their upcoming Europa League fixture. After being included in the starting XI for Spurs’ impressive 3-0 win over Manchester United, Werner will be hoping for more opportunities to prove himself under Ange Postecoglou.

The match at Old Trafford was a significant moment for Tottenham, and Werner contributed to the victory with a solid performance, filling in for Son Heung-min on the left wing.

Postecoglou’s decision to bring him back for the 2024/25 campaign was driven by Werner’s attributes that align with the coach’s philosophy for wide players.

So far, Werner has made six appearances this season, with most of them coming off the bench late in games.

The limited time on the pitch—typically 10-15 minutes—has made it difficult for the 28-year-old to find rhythm and make a significant impact.

His only other start this season came in the Carabao Cup against Coventry City, where he struggled to make an impression.

However, his performance against Manchester United, despite the missed chances, should serve as a confidence booster heading into the Ferencvaros match.

With another start likely on Thursday, Werner has the perfect opportunity to rebuild his confidence. Ferencvaros, one of the weaker sides in the competition, could provide the perfect stage for the German to get back on the scoresheet.
