Spurs Bids £25m for Chelsea Nightmare – Player scored brilliant goal against the blues
A rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target netted a brilliant goal against Chelsea in a pre-season friendly last night.
Tottenham have added Archie Gray, Timo Werner and Lucas Bergvall to their ranks so far this summer and look set to complete the signing of South Korean teenager Yang Min-hyuk, who is due to be announced during the pre-season tour in Asia.
Now, attention is expected to turn towards a creative midfielder and perhaps a versatile forward, with Federico Chiesa heavily linked.
With that said, one of their rumoured midfield targets was on song against Chelsea in pre-season last night.
Matt O’Riley scores against Chelsea
Celtic playmaker Matt O’Riley is a reported target of Tottenham Hotspur with reports suggesting Ange Postecoglou is keen on reuniting with him.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal season in Scotland last term, netting 19 times whilst laying on 18 assists.
O’Riley has taken that form into pre-season and netted a lovely left-footed finish during a 4-1 win against Chelsea last night.
The Denmark international certainly would’ve put rival suitors on red alert and it’s understood that another Premier League team are rivalling Spurs for his signature.
Southampton keen to sign Matt O’Riley
Newly promoted Southampton are also keen on O’Riley and have taken concrete steps to land his signature.
Serie giants Atalanta have seen multiple bids knocked back for the playmaker, who is thought to be valued at around £25m.
Spurs are yet to make a formal approach and it remains to be seen if they will following the emergence of Mikey Moore.
The 16-year-old has flourished in pre-season and looks set to be involved in the first-team set-up this term.
