Tottenham should forget £42 million striker target and go all out for Champions League finalist
Tottenham Hotspur have to push for ‘star’ striker this summer in place of £42 million rated Santiago Gimenez.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have been fairly active in the summer transfer market with Leeds United’s Archie Gray and midfielder Lucas Bergvall brought into the club so far.
A new striker will also surely be another key priority for the Lilywhites with HITC reporting that club’s top target is £42 million forward Santiago Gimenez from Dutch side Feyenoord.
The North London club have yet to replace the void filled by Harry Kane’s departure from the club, who joined Bayern Munich during the summer of 2023.
Whilst the signing of the Mexican forward Gimenez may well be a good one considering he netted 26 times in all competitions for the Dutch side, a different name should be considered.
Another forward could well prove to be a good option for the club, at a much cheaper price is Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.
Adeyemi endured a frustrating season at the Signal Iduna Park with the former RB Salzburg forward oftentimes coming off the bench for the club, hence why he has just three Bundesliga goals.
Sources have told HITC that Dortmund’s new manager Nuri Sahin would be keen on moving on the German forward.
Tottenham, alongside Chelsea, West Ham United and Newcastle United are all understood to have been offered the chance to sign the German but it is Spurs who should take advantage of this situation.
Spurs have to take advantage of Adeyemi situation
A young forward who is versatile, quick and agile could be exactly what the Tottenham attack needs to get the best out the club’s wide players, in particular.
With Dortmund seemingly keen on getting rid of Adeyemi, the Lilywhites could acquire him for a relatively decent price .
Glenn Hoddle once labelled the forward as a potential ‘star‘. Whilst he wouldn’t be the most dynamic signing to replace goalscorer Kane, he would certainly be a good option.
Adeyemi showed his qualities against Chelsea back in 2023, the North London club would certainly be getting a player with promise and potential, for a decent price.
