Report: ‘World-class’ £60m midfielder is open to joining Tottenham with Gallagher move now unlikely

Tottenham’s pursuit of Conor Gallagher could be over but there’s still hope for them when it comes to signing another top midfielder.

Spurs have already splashed out this summer to sign Archie Gray from Leeds and Ange Postecoglou is hoping to get even more backing over the next few weeks.

For Tottenham, it’s another big summer of change where Postecoglou is also hoping to move on a number of players as well.

Of course, for Spurs fans, the incomings are the most important part of the summer window.

A new midfielder is thought to be high on Tottenham’s to do list this summer and after constant links to Conor Gallagher in recent times, it’s clear that Postecoglou wants someone in.

However, according to fresh reports, a move for Gallagher could now be off, with Spurs instead looking at signing his England teammate.

Ebere Eze is open to Tottenham move with Conor Gallagher deal now less likely

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Crystal Palace star Eze is open to the idea of a move this summer.

It comes as he looks to weigh up his options at Palace after seeing Michael Olise depart.

Eze has a release-clause in his contract of around £60m and it’s been heavily reported that Tottenham are keen on bringing the England star to North London.

This report from GMS gives Tottenham further hope on that front, with suggestions that Eze is willing to consider a move away this summer if the deal is right.

It’s claimed further in the report that Tottenham are now cooling their interest in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, who could wind up signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea got to the PSR deadline without a hitch and could now choose to invest in Gallagher, rather than sell him on.

Of course, for Tottenham, missing out on Gallagher frees up the budget to go and look elsewhere.

The ‘world-class‘ Eze, then, could well be the man they turn to next.
