Nuno faces Tottenham interest in €40m player who ‘will listen’ to Nottingham Forest offer
Tottenham Hotspur are showing significant interest in AS Monaco’s right-back Vanderson, amid competition from Nottingham Forest and several other clubs.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the 22-year-old Brazilian defender is being targeted by Spurs, especially if Emerson Royal departs this summer.
Vanderson has become a highly sought-after player due to his impressive performances in Ligue 1. Last season, despite a few injuries, he managed to start 20 league games, showcasing his versatility by playing both at right-back and right midfield.
Since joining Monaco in January 2022 for a reported fee of €11 million from Gremio, Vanderson has made 84 appearances and earned two international caps for Brazil. His current valuation, however, poses a challenge for interested clubs, with Monaco demanding more than €40 million.
Tottenham’s interest in Vanderson is part of their broader strategy to reinforce their defense, particularly if Emerson Royal leaves for AC Milan, his preferred destination.
Emerson’s potential departure makes Vanderson a prime candidate to fill the right-back position, offering top-class competition to Pedro Porro. The hefty €40 million price tag, however, might complicate negotiations for Spurs, who appreciate Vanderson’s talent but need to manage their budget wisely.

Nottingham Forest are also in the race for Vanderson, as reported by Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte.
Forest’s interest aligns with their efforts to strengthen their squad, though their financial constraints under Profitability & Sustainability Rules might limit their ability to meet Monaco’s valuation.
Forest currently have Neco Williams and Ola Aina as right-back options, but Vanderson would bring additional quality and depth to their defensive lineups
Apart from Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, Napoli and Sevilla have also shown interest in Vanderson. Napoli reportedly considered a €9 million offer, while Monaco is holding out for a higher fee, potentially around €15 million.
Vanderson’s agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, is open to listening to offers from all interested clubs, adding a competitive edge to the transfer negotiations.
Vanderson’s transfer to either Tottenham or Nottingham Forest could significantly impact both clubs. For Tottenham, securing Vanderson would solidify their defensive options, providing a young, versatile player capable of competing at the highest level.
For Nottingham Forest, Vanderson would be a marquee signing, enhancing their defensive stability and contributing to their long-term strategy in the Premier League.
As the transfer window progresses, Vanderson’s future remains a key topic of speculation. Tottenham’s interest is conditional on Emerson Royal’s departure, while Nottingham Forest’s pursuit is influenced by financial considerations.
The competition for Vanderson’s signature highlights his rising profile in European football. Both Spurs and Forest will need to navigate complex negotiations to secure the talented Brazilian, who could prove to be a significant asset for either club.
