Club now dumping their high earners so they can sign £70k/week Spurs ace Ange called “fantastic”

Reports say that a Tottenham star that Ange Postecoglou praised is in talks to leave the north London club this summer.

Transfer rumours about Tottenham
Tottenham had a rough 2023–24 Premier League season. At the start of the season, they went 10 games without losing, and there was even talk of a possible title threat. But because of injuries and bad play, the Lilywhites ended up in 5th place and will play in the Europa League next season.

After a good first season as manager, Postecoglou needs to focus on the upcoming summer trade window as he tries to improve on last year’s fifth-place finish. Even though they don’t play in the Champions League, the Londoners have already been linked with some big names.

Tottenham is reportedly putting together a personal terms deal for Brentford’s Ivan Toney. Youssef En-Nesyri, a hitman for Sevilla, has also appeared as a real target for Spurs.

Links also exist to Eberechi Eze. It was claimed last week that Spurs are set to start talks with Crystal Palace within the next two weeks about the possibility of signing the English player.

Despite all the people who might move to north London in the coming months, some people are also likely to leave. In May, it was said that 11 Spurs players could be sold this summer. Now, there is new information about one of those players. Giovani Lo Celso is the player in question. He was on the edges of Spurs’ team for most of the 2023–24 season.

In April, Postecoglou was asked about the Argentine’s lack of playing time. He said, “Look, he’s a great player, but with all these things you’ve got to keep in mind that we’re at a big club, we’re going to have a big squad, and if it’s not Gio, someone else will play that role next year.”

The manager went on, “If they want more game time, they can go to other clubs, and I’m looking at how they can contribute.” With a player like Gio, I said he helped us this year, and that was the most important thing to me.

News from Spain (Sport Witness) says that Real Betis has been in touch with Lo Celso, 28, since he left the club and is now trying to sign him again. Real Betis sold Lo Celso to Tottenham in 2019. It might be hard for the Spanish team to pay Lo Celso, though, since he makes £70,000 a week in London.

It is thought that Betis will have to cut their wages in order to get Lo Celso back. They plan to do this by selling some of their highest-paid players. Nabil Fekir, Willian Jose, and William Carvalho are all names as players who could be sold.

The story doesn’t say how much the South American cost, but since he only has one year left on his deal and isn’t a regular player under Postecoglou, it probably won’t be too much for Tottenham to agree to sell.
