Postecoglou is prioritising new signing due to concerns about 23yr old

According to Football Insider, Tottenham is prioritising the recruitment of another top-class centre-back this summer due to internal worries about the health and disciplinary record of its starting centre-backs.

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Spurs want to sign more central defenders this summer (The Standard), and I can see why the Australian would want more option at the back, especially with the Lilywhites returning to Europe next season.

Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero have formed an amazing team.
Given that Postecolgou currently has three quality central defenders on his roster, one would expect the North London club to go for a cheaper or younger alternative.

It would also stand to reason that an addition in that section of the field is not as important as fresh faces in midfield, attack, and maybe fullback.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are looking to address centre-back as a priority during the summer transfer season.

Spurs are looking for a new center-back to come in as cover

This is due to worries over Micky Van de Ven’s hamstring issues, since the Dutchman missed 16 games last season.

Cristian Romero’s proclivity for suspension has been a source of concern, with the Argentine receiving six yellow cards and one red card last season.

According to the magazine, Tottenham are looking for another elite centre-half, with Nottingham Forest defender Murillo being one of the names on their radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham will undoubtedly look for a centre-back this summer, but I would be amazed if they spent more than £30 million on a new signing in that position.

The team may also search for a flexible player who can play both centre-back and full-back, such as Riccardo Calafiori.
