The Luka Vuskovic transfer decision facing Tottenham and the importance of his next loan
Luka Vuskovic continues to make a name for himself in Europe ahead of linking up with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham squad for the very first time. Coming to the attention of a host of clubs after coming through the system at Hajduk Split, the 17-year-old headed for Poland at the start of 2024 after penning a loan deal with Radomiak Radom.
A great opportunity for the Croat to feature regularly and aid his development in the process, his loan spell with the Ekstraklasa club proved to be a huge success for all parties involved. Delivering some top defensive performances and demonstrating to everyone just how good he is on the ball, Vuskovic also showed that he is more than capable of having a huge impact at the other end of the pitch.

On the scoresheet three times for Radomiak Radom, the highly-rated defender also got an assist to his name in his 14 appearances for the Polish club. Now that the Polish season has come to a close, Vuskovic will return to Hajduk Split this summer ahead of another potential loan move.
Following confirmation back in September that Tottenham had reached an agreement with Hajduk Split for the defender to join the club in 2025, there is still a decent amount of time to go before the player, who has penned a deal in north London until the summer of 2030, links up with his Spurs teammates for the very first time. Due to FIFA rules, the centre-back will have to wait until he can arrive in England in 2025 when he is 18-years-old

Prior to then, Tottenham will be hoping that Vuskovic can build up as much experience as possible before he finally arrives in the capital. As reported by Polish media outlet Weszlo, Slawomir Stempniewski, co-owner of Radomiak Radom, mentioned on more than one occasion that his club were talking to Spurs about the possibility of securing another loan deal for Vuskovic.
However, a return to Radomiak Radom doesn’t appear to be beneficial to Tottenham in the long run. In order for the defender to be able to play in the UK, GBE (Governing Body Endorsement) points are vital as a points-based system is in place.
The threshold is 15 points, with the Polish Ekstraklasa seen as one of the least-valued leagues. In order to bump up the player’s points, which are believed to currently stand at four following his time with Radomiak Radom, Weszlo claim that a move to either Belgium or the Netherlands would help Vuskovic and Tottenham out when it comes to obtaining the necessary points as they are amongst the most-valued leagues.
