‘Special’ Tottenham ace has been quietly impressing on loan, he could be ready for first-team

Quietly making an impression on loan, a “special” Tottenham Hotspur player may be ready for Ange Postecoglou’s first squad.

Harry Kane is the prime illustration of the long history of Spurs producing players from their academy.

Although Kane was sent out on many loan agreements throughout his development, with differing degrees of success, it eventually helped to mould him into one of the finest centre-forwards England has ever produced.

That said, it seems that one Spurs kid is travelling a similar path and has recently returned from a very successful loan period overseas.

Troy Parrot making an impression while out on loan

Though his career hasn’t exactly worked out that way, Troy Parrott was originally thought to be Tottenham’s next great thing.

Until recently, he hasn’t really shown his full talent in any of the lesser levels where he has been sent on many loans.

The 22-year-old had a productive performance last season while on loan at Eredivisie team Excelsior.

Parrott kept his team in the Eredivisie by scoring 13 goals and dishing out five assists in 22 games.

Troy Parrott near to Ange Postecoglou’s first-team

Parrott is not quite at the level to return to Postecolgou’s first team right away, but he is near, and maybe one more successful loan stint to a lower-league Premier League club will put him back in the picture.

His Spurs career seemed to be very much finished for a while, but it has undoubtedly been revived, with parallels to Kane’s career path.

Spurs would have an outstanding number nine for the next ten years if he even had half the career of Kane.
