Fabio Paratici has told Tottenham to sign £50m Brazilian this summer, he’s utterly convinced
Former Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici, who still has great influence at the club, has now advised Spurs to make a key signing.
Having now concluded their season, Ange Postecoglou will be working closely with Daniel Levy to attack this summer’s transfer market.
Having returned to Europen football, albeit not at the Champions League level they craved, Tottenham are expected to make considerable investments.
We’re still very early in Postecoglou’s rebuild of his squad, one that is already showing adequate promise that something special could be on the horizon.
Radu Dragusin repeated his strong end to the season against Newcastle United on Wednesday, proving what a stellar addition he could be.
And with Lucas Bergvall already set to arrive from Sweden – a player who snubbed interest from Barcelona to join, Spurs should be chasing several deals.
The Tottenham manager is said to desire an addition in defence, midfield and attack this summer, which may depend on who leaves.
That being said, via a report from Mirror Sport, Fabio Paratici has already outlined one target to pursue.
Fabio Paratici has told Tottenham to buy Europa League winning midfielder Ederson
According to the report mentioned, Tottenham have been scouting £50m-rated Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who starred in the recent Europa League final.
Paratici in particular has been extensively recommending Ederson to Spurs, with a new midfielder believed to be one of Postecoglou’s top priorities.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is likely to be sold this summer according to reports, and even Yves Bissouma could be on his way out too if the right opportunities arise.
Tottenham are clearly preparing for a summer of change, and more importantly a summer of progress.
A new striker must also be on the horizon for Postecoglou, given they don’t necessarily have a natural number nine.
Both Richarlison and Son Heung-min have shared the role this season, but it can be argued that both perform better on the left.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney seems like an obvious target, someone who would definitely improve Tottenham’s prospects.
And then there are more creative options, like signing Memphis Depay as a free agent, who is set to leave Atletico Madrid.
Evidently this summer presents a huge opportunity for Tottenham, and Postecoglou will be demanding sufficient ambition.
