Tottenham plot €100m triple raid for electric Serie A trio – as Postecoglou makes clear plan on Radu Dragusin

Tottenham are preparing to spend approximately €100 million this summer on a triple Serie A raid, beginning with an audacious effort to capture versatile Juventus fullback Andrea Cambiaso.
This season, the north London club made remarkable progress under Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian’s no-nonsense manner and eye-catching approach to the game winning over fans and analysts alike.
However, despite a stunning start to the season in which Tottenham won eight of their first ten games to take the lead in the Premier League, a slew of injuries in the autumn and winter saw their chances of not only winning the title, but also finishing in the top four, end in disappointment.
Nonetheless, Spurs secured a top five finish, bringing Europa League football back to N17 next season and highlighting the club’s growth under Postecoglou’s direction.
However, preparations are already in place for what is expected to be a busy summer of comings and goings at the club as Postecoglou works to implement phase two of his rebuilding strategy.
To begin, the Tottenham manager has cleared the decks for 10 players to depart as part of a massive summer overhaul. And, although Spurs will suffer a substantial loss on the £225 million in free transfers, the 58-year-old will have more room in the squad to bring in his own players.
With that in mind, Postecoglou is looking to reinforce his team’s core by adding a new defender, midfielder, and striker to his roster.
Tottenham to challenge Aston Villa for €40 million juventus defender
To begin, rumours in Italy indicate Spurs are preparing a €40 million bid to sign Juventus defender Cambiaso this summer.
The 24-year-old is one of Italy’s most flexible and gifted full-backs, having played 24 games as a right-back and 11 games as a left-back for Juventus during the 2023/24 season.
The defender, who has two caps for Italy, is likely to join Luciano Spalletti’s side as they attempt to defend their European Championship crown this summer.
Juve are eager to reward the former Genoa player with a new contract after his great form, but they may be tempted to cash in if a substantial offer arises.
Aston Villa has previously allegedly had an inquiry for the player turned down, but an offer of €40 million (£34 million) might force Juve to cash in.
Spurs are reportedly considering a move for another defender, Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori, who is valued at €30 million.
Ironically, the 22-year-old is also a target for Juventus, who want to recruit the Italy U21 international to replace Gleison Bremer, who might be sold this summer.
However, the asking price for his head seems to be a bit high for Juve, who will need to sell before buying, perhaps opening the door for Spurs to bounce, having seen Calafiori on many times in recent weeks.
Postecoglou outlines a clear strategy for Radu Dragusin
Calafiori, according to Postecoglou, provides critical insurance for first-choice duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, both of whom had injury and suspension concerns last season.
Despite growing reports in the Italian media that Calafiori has been identified as a replacement for January signing Radu Dragusin, as well as growing links to a move to Napoli, TEAMtalk sources have revealed that the player is still very much in Postecoglou’s plans, and that Tottenham are not considering selling the Romanian.
His representation has voiced unhappiness with Dragusin’s lack of game time since his €30 million (£26.7 million) transfer from Genoa in January, fueling suspicion that he would be on the move again this summer.
However, Postecoglou is desperate to retain the 22-year-old at the club and views him as a key component of the team in the future, as well as a player who will quickly find his feet in north London and the Premier League.
To that end, the Spurs manager wants four top-tier central defensive alternatives at his disposal.
This summer, Tottenham’s manager is also seeking for a new striker to add to his squad and provide the team with another formidable goal threat.
Albert Gudmundsson, a Genoa striker who scored 14 goals in 34 games this season, is one player who is attracting a lot of attention.
The Iceland international’s form has piqued the interest of a number of teams, including Tottenham.
However, Napoli has made the initial move for his acquisition, seeing the youngster as a potential replacement in attack with concerns over Victor Osimhen’s long-term future.
Indeed, Gli Azzurri have discovered that any relocation would cost at least €30 million, which they now see as excessive.
Tottenham, on the other hand, would not be deterred by such an investment and are apparently preparing an official offer to close the transaction and perhaps secure a €100 million triple attack on Serie A.
