Tottenham commence negotiation for £60m-rated midfield maestro ahead of summer window

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing his signature.

According to a report from Football Insider, the club have held discussions over a summer move for the 24-year-old midfielder and it will be interesting to see if Nottingham Forest are willing to sanction his departure. The Premier League side are yet to decide on his future. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Gibbs-White has been a key player for Nottingham Forest this season and he has five goals and 10 assists in the Premier League. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham if they can get the deal done.

The London club need to add more craft and goals in the middle of the park. The 24-year-old can operate as the number ten as well as a winger. His versatility and technical ability could prove to be invaluable for Tottenham in the final third.

They have been overly dependent on James Maddison for creativity and goals. The former Leicester City midfielder has not been at his best in recent weeks and that has affected Tottenham’s performance going forward.

Adding more depth to the squad will allow Tottenham to sustain their push for trophies and Champions League qualification next season. Furthermore, the 24-year-old is well settled in English football and he could make an instant impact at the London club if they can get the deal done.

The report claims that the midfielder could be valued at £60 million this summer. That could be problematic for Spurs. They will have to strengthen the other areas of their squad as well and spending £60 million on a creative midfielder might not be a priority.
