James Maddison sends seven-word message to Tottenham’s Mikey Moore on Instagram after his Premier League debut

Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison has sent a message to young Mikey Moore on Instagram.

Spurs go into the final day of the Premier League season on the back of just one win in their last six games. They have been on a terrible run over the last month.

Maddison hasn’t been at his best recently, and he made way for a 16-year-old youngster in the game against Manchester City on Tuesday – Moore.

Tottenham have a lot of positives to take from this season despite what has happened in the final few weeks of the campaign.

Yes, Spurs blew their chances of finishing inside the top four by going on a run of five losses in six games, but they have done a lot of good things this term.

Ange Postecoglou has brought back a terrific brand of football to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He showed early in the season that his side can pick up good wins.

Spurs have gone toe-to-toe with the big sides as well, most recently in the game against Manchester City, where they could’ve easily got a result had it not been for Heung-min Son’s shocking miss.

One big positive from the game against the champions was Postecoglou’s decision to hand young Mikey Moore his Premier League debut.

The 16-year-old came on for the final few moments of the game, replacing James Maddison. It must have been an amazing moment for the teenager, who will never forget that day.

Maddison has been around the block for a long time now, and he is a role model of sorts to the younger players.

The Englishman took to Instagram on Thursday night to congratulate young Moore on his achievement.

“Congrats on Premier League debut young man,” he wrote in his Instagram Story.

Mikey Moore’s U18 stats will blow you away

Mikey Moore is one of the most talented young players at Tottenham right now. Spurs coaching staff have been stunned by him.

The 16-year-old can play on the left wing, as a number eight, 10 and even as a centre-forward if required. He is an unbelievable talent, and his performances for Tottenham’s U18s have been spectacular.

In just 14 appearances for Spurs’ U18s this season, Moore has scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions.

25 direct goal contributions in less than 1150 minutes of football is an extraordinary return, especially for a 16-year-old playing above his age group.

Those numbers must have impressed Ange Postecoglou, which is probably why he gave the youngster his Premier League debut on Tuesday.
