Tottenham ‘have submitted tempting offer’ for signing – Spurs €10m below clause, may be enough
There are some strong claims in the Spanish media today that Tottenham Hotspur is trying to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad.
To win the race for the 22-year-old, Fichajes says Spurs “have submitted a tempting offer.”
It says that Tottenham made an offer of €50 million for the player because they are “determined” to get him for less than his €60 million release clause.
Real Sociedad is said to be “tempted” by the deal, even though they want to keep their best players for next season.
The Spanish club is said to be “seriously considering” the offer, but it doesn’t look like a choice has been made yet.
Kubo was sold to Real Sociedad for just €6.5 million in the summer of 2022. He used to play for Real Madrid. He got along well with his new team in the end, and he now has seven goals in three seasons in La Liga this season.
Transfermarkt says the player is worth €60m right now, which is the same amount that the player’s release clause is.
They can buy him back for €30 million, but Real Madrid isn’t likely to use it right now, which is good for Tottenham.
