(Confirmed): 27-year-old winger is Heading to North London this summer amid Spurs links
Journalist Laia Tudel has revealed on Catalunya Radio (as relayed by Barca Blaugranes), that Tottenham target Raphinha is one of the two players who is most likely to be sold by Barcelona this summer.
Raphinha’s future at Camp Nou is shrouded in doubt, with various outlets continuing to report over recent weeks that he is one of the wingers at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window (The Telegraph).
A couple of days ago, the print edition of Mundo Deportivo (as relayed by Sport Witness) stated that Spurs are willing to pay the €55m (£47.1m) fee demanded by Barca to bring the Brazilian back to the Premier League.
Raphinha most likely to leave Barcelona this summer
Tudel has now revealed that the former Leeds man is one of the two most likely players to be sold by Barca as they aim to raise funds to offset their losses and fund moves for their top transfer targets.
The journalist states that the Catalan club’s sporting director Deco has identified Raphinha and Ronald Araujo as the two he wants to sacrifice as both players would command big fees.
The publication adds that the winger is not too keen on leaving Camp Nou and that Deco is expected to hold talks with the attacker to explain the club’s decision.
If Raphinha is put on the shop window ahead of the summer (which seems quite likely) one would expect a host of Premier League clubs to be battling for his signature. So Tottenham’s pursuit of the 27-year-old will not be straightforward.
