Superstar Tottenham player has just asked Ange Postecoglou to let him go this summer
An international club is reportedly looking at signing a Tottenham Hotspur player who has “requested” to leave the club this summer.
During the next transfer window, Spurs are predicted to be quite busy.
With three straight losses, Ange Postecoglou’s squad has little chance of finishing in the top four and earning a spot in the Champions League.
Whatever happens, Tottenham has to make some adjustments.
Although several players are anticipated to depart Spurs, all eyes will also be on incomings. Recently, new information on one of them has surfaced.
Team devises unique strategy to get Bryan Gil, a winger for Tottenham
During the summer of 2021, when Nuno Espirito Santo was still the manager at Tottenham, Bryan Gil was signed from Sevilla.
At the time, the Spaniard was seen to have enormous potential. After seeing him perform, Graham Roberts even went to the extent of describing him as a «superstar».
But Gil hasn’t really done anything yet, has he?
This season, the 23-year-old has made appearances in the Premier League totaling little more than 200 minutes. When it comes to Ange Postecoglou’s hierarchy, he is far from the top.
This summer, Gil will enter the last two years of his contract with Tottenham, although his future with the club is clearly uncertain.
According to Spanish news site Vamos Mi Sevilla, the striker has reportedly asked Tottenham to release him during the summer transfer window.
Gil is eager to go permanently and is not interested in another loan agreement.
Tottenham is demanding a transfer price ranging from £5.1 million to £6.8 million, which is making the signing of the Spaniard more difficult for Sevilla.
For that reason, Sevilla reportedly offered the notion of loaning Gil to them this summer with the intention of making the transfer permanent in a year.
Feyenoord reportedly made an offer to sign Gil before Sevilla did, so they aren’t the only ones vying for his services.
What a letdown Bryan Gil’s Tottenham statistics are!
When Tottenham signed Bryan Gil in 2021, he was a sensation in Spain.
Many thought Spurs made a fantastic move when they signed the Spaniard, despite competition from rivals like Barcelona.
But Gil hasn’t exactly been a shining star for the Spurs over the years.
I mean, he hasn’t gotten the playing time he’d hoped for, but when three different coaches fail to establish you as a starter, it’s likely your fault, right?
It’s not shocking that Gil might depart Tottenham this summer; looking at his statistics, it’s clear that this is the wisest decision for everyone.
