King calls for VAR to be scrapped after what happened in Tottenham v Arsenal
Bryan King thinks that VAR should be thrown out after what happened in the Tottenham vs. Arsenal North London match.
The former Spurs scout thinks that the technology isn’t being used correctly at the moment.
It comes after Micky van de Ven’s goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. Spurs lost 3-2 to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (April 28).
And King, who only talked to Tottenham News, wasn’t happy with the choice.
King said, “Spurs’ goal that was called off looked very close; it looked like Gabriel was playing van de Ven onside.”
As soon as a team scores, there’s not much reason to celebrate. I agree with Ange Postecoglou when he said bad things about VAR after the game.
The decision-making is no longer done by the judge on the game, which takes the fun out of football.
VAR should be thrown out until things are fixed, because they can’t handle it right now.
After Tottenham vs. Arsenal, VAR continues to cause more problems than it solves.
Surprisingly, VAR was added to football so that commentators wouldn’t have to talk about judging choices or mistakes during halftime.
The technology has made it seem like that subject has been talked about more since it was first presented.
Nothing has changed this season about how many mistakes have been made. It doesn’t matter if van de Ven was offside against Arsenal on Sunday.
Even though VAR can be helpful when used right, it isn’t being used correctly, and something needs to be done to stop more controversies.
