He isn’t suited, Lilywhite Rose urges Tottenham to sell first team star as Ange issue mooted

John Wenham thinks Ange Postecoglou would be better off without Tottenham right back Emerson Royal, therefore, he wants to see him moved.

If a fair offer came in for the 25-year-old this summer, the proprietor of the respectable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, would be eager for the Spurs to release Emerson.

In the January transfer window, Al-Nassr allegedly made a “huge” bid for the Brazilian, but Tottenham rejected it (The Sun, January).

In an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham expressed his opinion that the team should take advantage of any such offer.

I would want to see us sell Emerson if we could obtain close to the sum we spent to sign him.

As a teammate and potential right back, he is a positive presence.

“But Postecoglou’s system doesn’t work for Pedro Porro, and I believe selling him for a fair price would be the best course of action.”

In light of the rumoured interest from Saudi Arabia, should Ange Postecoglou allow Emerson Royal to leave Tottenham?

After reportedly joining Spurs from FC Barcelona for £25.8 million (as reported by BBC Sport on August 31, 2021), Emerson has spent almost three years at the club.

This season, Emerson Royal has found it difficult to get consistent playing time for Tottenham.
Tottenham may be able to recuperate much of the £25.8 million they spent to get Emerson if they let him to go, especially because Saudi teams seem to be hovering.
