Injury News: Brennan Johnson fit but Tottenham will be without 4 stars vs Nottingham Forest
Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up to face Nottingham Forest today in a bid to bounce back from their draw against West Ham earlier this week.
With aspirations of maintaining pressure on Aston Villa for a traditional top-four finish, Spurs approach the game with optimism.
As they prepare for the fixture, Tottenham faces some injury concerns, prompting manager Ange Postecoglou to make tough decisions regarding the lineup.
One late call involved former Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson, who, despite coming off injured against West Ham after scoring, is confirmed fit for the upcoming match.
However, Spurs will be without Richarlison due to knee issues, although his absence appears precautionary, and he is expected to return for the clash against Newcastle United next weekend.
Addressing Johnson and Richarlison in the pre-match press conference, Postecoglou assured fans of Johnson’s fitness while explaining Richarlison’s absence:
“Brennan is fine. He’s no problem. The only one is Richy. He’s had a bit of a niggle with his knee these last few weeks. We kind of feel it’s best he takes his weekend off and gets ready for Newcastle next, but everyone else is fine.”
In addition to Richarlison, Tottenham will be without Ryan Sessegnon due to a hamstring injury, while Manor Solomon continues his knee surgery rehab, and Fraser Forster remains sidelined with foot problems.
Johnson’s availability is a significant boost for Tottenham, and supporters will be eager for him to maintain his impressive form against Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
