Exclusive: Tottenham told new asking price for Gibbs-White and it’s not what they expected
Forest is considering including Gibbs-White in their list of players potentially leaving the club this summer, considering him one of their most valuable assets at 24 years old.
Tottenham had hoped to secure Gibbs-White for a lower fee compared to Johnson, but Forest is expected to demand a higher price, aiming for a substantial profit on their initial investment from Wolves.
Earlier this month, Forest received a four-point deduction due to a breach of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
With Nuno Espirito Santo’s team now in the relegation zone, they have just nine games left in the season to salvage their position in the top flight.
Forest is reportedly seeking a fee exceeding £50 million for Gibbs-White in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast revealed insights from O’Rourke, suggesting that Newcastle United would also express interest in Gibbs-White if he becomes available for transfer.
The anticipated price tag for Gibbs-White is expected to mirror or possibly surpass the £50 million fee paid for Brennan Johnson, indicating Forest’s intent to secure a significant return on their investment.
