Spurs could start negotiations for 26yr old in next few weeks
Daily Sportivo now says that Tottenham Hotspur and Genoa are going to talk about a deal for Albert Gudmundsson in the next few weeks.
Several Italian news outlets are sure that Spurs will make a move for Gudmundsson in the summer. These outlets list the North Londoners as the biggest threat to Juventus, Inter Milan, and Roma in their hunt for the attacking midfielder.
This includes new reports from ASRomaLive.it and Tutto Juve, which said that Spurs would have no trouble meeting Genoa’s €35m (£30m) asking price for the 26-year-old player because they have a good relationship with the Italian team.
The latest news about Tottenham’s interest in Gudmundsson comes from Quotidiano Sportivo, which says that Ange Postecoglou’s team is watching the player “with great interest” before the summer.
The story also says that Spurs could start talking to Genoa about the players “in the next few weeks,” which is similar to how they started talking about a deal for Radu Dragusin before the January transfer market opened.
The Premier League team says the Italian market is “more and more attractive” since players like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Destiny Udogie have done well at N17.
In order to replace James Maddison, Tottenham is likely to look for a number eight or ten player. Lo Celso is likely to leave the club in the summer.
Spurs will be interested in Gudmundsson, but I don’t think Postecoglou, Lange, and the rest of the team will have decided on their top targets for any of the spots yet—the transfer window isn’t open for another two months.
