Djed Spence, the young talent from Tottenham, has expressed contentment with his current situation at Genoa, despite facing setbacks due to injuries that have hindered his anticipated impact.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Spence reflected on his loan spell at the Italian club, which commenced in the January transfer window.

His journey saw him return to Tottenham at the start of January from a loan stint at Leeds United, which didn’t unfold as planned. Prior to that, he had returned to Tottenham in the summer from a six-month loan at Stade Rennais.

Spence swiftly became part of the deal involving Radu Dragusin’s move to Tottenham, with Spence joining Genoa on loan until the season’s end.

Since joining Genoa, Spence has made six appearances, accumulating 308 minutes of playtime. However, he has only been in the starting lineup three times out of a possible eight matches so far.

Despite this, Spence has left a positive impression on the pitch, earning praise from Genoa supporters. He remains optimistic about his progress, acknowledging the challenges he has faced.

“Injuries have been a significant setback,” Spence revealed to the newspaper. “Recovery takes time, but I’m gradually improving and inching towards reaching my full potential. Most importantly, I feel content and confident now.”

Spence expressed satisfaction with his integration into the Genoa squad, emphasizing the support he has received from teammates and staff. He credited their assistance for aiding his swift adaptation to the new environment, highlighting his enjoyment of the experience.

“In the locker room, my teammates and the staff have been instrumental in helping me settle in quickly,” Spence remarked. “I’m genuinely happy here and having a great time.”

Despite the challenges posed by injuries and limited playing opportunities, Spence remains positive about his development and the contributions he can make to Genoa.
