Another Tottenham game is set to be postponed and rescheduled
Sam Lee of The Athletic says that Tottenham’s game against Manchester City might have to be moved to the end of the season.
Spurs were given a harsh reality check at Craven Cottage on Saturday, ending any hopes that they would easily win fourth place after their morale-boosting win at Villa Park.
There is still work to be done for the North Londoners to get into the Champions League next season, and the tough end to the season doesn’t help their chances.
Spurs have a tough month of April because they have to go to St. James’ Park and the London Stadium, as well as host Man City and Arsenal. At the beginning of May, they have to go to Anfield.
Tottenham vs. Man City may be moved to a different time.
Lee now says that if City makes it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League, things could get even worse for Tottenham at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s team is in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, which means they have a very full schedule. If they also make it to the last four of the Champions League, Lee says their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be moved to the second-to-last game of the season.
For all intents and purposes, Spurs could give Arsenal the Premier League title if they beat Man City at home this late in the season. We hope that doesn’t happen and that the Gunners lose a lot before that.
