3/10 Spurs star who lost the ball every 5 minutes is now as droppable as Dragusin

This was a great chance for Tottenham Hotspur to move into the top four.

Others in the running This week, Manchester United isn’t playing in the Premier League, and Aston Villa didn’t play until Sunday afternoon. So, Ange Postecoglou’s team would have moved into the Champions League spots if they had won.

But what happened next was probably the worst game the Australian has played in north London so far. Spurs never got going, and Rodrigo Muniz, who scored two goals at Craven Cottage, beat them. He is one of the best players in the league right now.

The Lilywhites were tired, especially Radu Dragusin, who was starting for Tottenham for the first time.

In January, the Romanian player was signed just in case something like this happened. If either Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven gets hurt, like the Dutchman did this past weekend, the center defender could do a good job.

Unfortunately, his first game under Postecoglou looked more like that of Vlad Chiriches, another Greek player, than it did like Romero or Van de Ven.

The center-back didn’t look too bad based on the numbers: he completed 90% of his passes, made two tackles, and cleared the ball five times. What the eye test did, though, was enough for us.

For the first run, even though Antonee Robinson’s ball was truly amazing. Rodrigo Muniz scored two goals, but Dragusin left him with a lot of space behind him.

The third goal was scored by Muniz, who got to the ball faster than Spurs’ new winter signing and tapped it in from close range after Calvin Bassey’s shot hit the post.

If Van de Ven comes back, you would think that Dragusin would be put on the bench right away after this performance.

Postecoglou was let down by more than one man this weekend, which was bad for him.

Brennan Johnson’s work broken down by numbers

Spurs paid £47.5 million to get the forward from Nottingham Forest. It took him a while to get going, but in recent weeks he looked like he was worth that price.

Johnson had scored against Aston Villa six days before, set up two goals against Crystal Palace, and scored against Brighton in his last four games.

The Englishman, on the other hand, played like himself again, which may have made Tottenham fans wonder why they paid so much for someone who wasn’t reliable.

After the game, we talked about the left. Sports. Football.Alasdair Gold from London gave him a bad 4/10 grade for the game, saying, “Couldn’t match his previous displays, hit one weak shot at the keeper and was poor with the ball although he should have had an assist for a ball across the face of goal that Werner should have tucked into the net.”

Johnson was unlucky not to add to his season-high assist total, but this wasn’t the forward-moving play we’ve seen from him lately.

The former Forest player lost the ball 15 times, or once every five minutes, and he only won 1/5 of his duels. Even though Johnson had the best chance of any Tottenham player (0.77 xG), he only succeeded with one of his three crosses and still couldn’t score.

Since Werner is watching over his shoulder and Richarlison is coming back from injury, it wouldn’t be a surprise if their expensive new player got some time off after the international break.

The fact that Postecoglou has more brutal choices means that Johnson should be scared about keeping the starting spot he has had for a few weeks.
