Made you feel like you were the best: Kyle Walker confirmed manager he had at Spurs was the best
Among the top man-managers in the game right now is Ange Postecoglou, and he’s at Tottenham Hotspur.
Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Redknapp are just two of the many fantastic managers that Spurs players and supporters have adored in recent years.
Kyle Walker has officially said that Harry Redknapp is “probably the best” man-manager he has ever had, speaking highly of the Spurs cult figure.
During his tenure as manager at White Hart Lane (2008–2012), Redknapp guided Tottenham to the Champions League.
While Redknapp was in charge, Tottenham also signed Walker. In 2009, he was added to Spurs’ roster, however he stayed on loan at Sheffield United until summer of 2010.
While at Spurs, Walker flourished, becoming famous as one of the top full-backs in the nation—a status he maintains to this day.
When it came to managing Tottenham, Harry Redknapp was “the best man-manager” for Kyle Walker.
Several subjects, including the 33-year-old’s career, were discussed in an exclusive interview that was published on Friday by Vibe with FIVE. The interviewees were Rio Ferdinand and his co-hosts.
Walker said, “I liked it, I liked it,” when asked about his experience playing under Redknapp’s management.
I played for [Neil] Warnock at QPR, and he was a lot like him.
After he loved you, that was it; Harry was the greatest man-manager I’ve ever had because he made you feel like the greatest player.
“And I think it was huge, particularly for me when I was a kid, to have Joe Jordan and Kevin Bond playing with him.”
It’s heartening to hear that Walker had a positive impression of his time at Tottenham, and it’s even better to know that a cult figure of the Spurs, Redknapp, is receiving such high acclaim from a legendary player like Walker.
Even at age 77, the 77-year-old keeps an eye on Spurs. The year before Antonio Conte was fired, he had already said that he would have been tempted to take over again if given the chance.
When compared to other great man-managers at Tottenham, Postecoglou is quickly becoming up there with Redknapp. The players’ growth at Spurs has been glaringly obvious.
