Tottenham may now be forced to sell sensational ace cheap as he wanted to go in January

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, could have to part with a player who expressed a desire to go in January for a “much lower” sum.

Players at Spurs who may depart the team this summer are explained

Many of the older Spurs players are presently facing unclear futures, since many of them have not been able to fit into Postecoglou’s plans since the Australian took over as manager.

In fact, several of them are now on short-term loan at other teams throughout the nation. Among them are striker Tory Parrott, center back Joe Rodon, right back Djed Spence, left back Sergio Reguilon, defender Japhet Tanganga, and club record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

They are all scheduled to return in the summer, when chief football officer Scott Munn and technical director Johan Lange will have to decide whether to find them other homes or not, since it doesn’t currently seem like Postecoglou has any intention of doing so.

In the meanwhile, there’s the issue of players who are still with Spurs but are not in Postecoglou’s starting lineup. Despite late interest from Brighton and Spanish teams, Bryan Gil decided to stay at Spurs in January. However, the youthful attacker isn’t getting more playing time and is likely to be cut this summer.

The instance of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a midfield player who was a regular under Antonio Conte, is also noteworthy. Because the Dane doesn’t exactly appear to match Postecoglou’s tactical style, the Dane’s playing time has been severely limited.

Despite starting the great majority of his games from the substitute bench, Hojbjerg has maintained his status as a “important” component of the Tottenham team, according to the head coach.

Postecoglou stated of Hojbjerg earlier this season, “It is obvious someone who has played regularly would have wanted to play more but ultimately our performances have been strong and he has had to bide his time.”

In many of the games that we have needed to shore up late or that we have won late, he has also been crucial. He’s not the only one who has helped us; in fact, he hasn’t done anything at all. He has played a pivotal role in our journey. If we relied just on our starting XI, we wouldn’t be in this situation.

“He is a professional and very determined with Pierre.”

Tottenham could have to accept a “much lower” sum for Hojbjerg’s sale.

Hojbjerg has been linked to a transfer away from Tottenham because of his lack of starting appearances this season; this was in the lead-up to January.

In the winter window, the north Londoners seemed to have barred his escape, but this summer things may be very different. The recent agency switch by the “sensational” Hojbjerg—dubbed such by Seb Stafford-Bloor—is seen as a “clear signal” that he wants to move up to Serie A.
