Get him gone – Tottenham fans furious at 27yr old after recent social media post
Sergio Reguilon, a defender for Tottenham, has caused controversy online.
The left defender spent the first half of the season with Manchester United and is now on loan at Brentford.
As a summertime emergency signing due to Luke Shaw’s injury, he went on loan to the Red Devils.
But the club cut Shaw’s playing time in half after his return, and in January they terminated his loan.
The Tottenham faithful were not thrilled by the Spaniard’s narrative he told in favor of Manchester United during the derby.
Both Spurs and United were very motivated to win the match since a loss for United would have helped Spurs secure fourth place.
His display of support for United was met with disapproval by Tottenham supporters, who point out his long-standing ties and present contract with the North London club.
Reguilon is still employed by Tottenham, yet here he is rooting for a top four opponent to Tottenham, according to one X user. Totally astounding. Get rid of him.
He was told to “get out of his club” by another who felt the same way.
Since signing with Spurs in 2020, Reguilon has made 67 appearances, scoring twice and assisted on nine goals.
After spending a season on loan at Atletico Madrid in 2022, he went on to play for United and Brentford.
Spurs will probably try to sell him on a permanent contract next summer now that his stint there is over.
