James Maddison surprised by what Tottenham have just posted about him on Instagram
James Maddison has been somewhat taken aback by the Instagram post that Tottenham made about him.
Following Spurs’ release of a footage from Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace, the 27-year-old made a statement.
In light of Tottenham’s post, how did James Maddison respond? Now, let’s examine it…
The reaction of James Maddison to Tottenham’s
To celebrate their win against Crystal Palace, Tottenham, like every other team these days, posted a number of short clips on social media.
Maddison was seen nutmegging Spurs No. 10 Adam Wharton in one of the video, but the 20-year-old from Crystal Palace quickly took him down and managed to get back on his feet.
“That the best clip you could find?,” the England international commented in reaction to Tottenham’s release. Good job! This is definitely not highlight reel stuff, even if it’s a foul.
Since the video wasn’t very noteworthy, Maddison is understandably astonished that Spurs chose to use it as a highlight.
It was an unusual tweet from Tottenham, as there were plenty of other aspects of his performance that might have been filmed for social media.
Results vs Crystal Palace as they pertain to James Maddison
It was clear on Saturday that Crystal Palace was no match for Madison.
The £40 million player has more free kicks earned by the south Londoners than any other player, according to WhoScored.
Not only did Maddison dribble twice and make two crucial passes, but he also completed three successful tackles, more than any Spurs player.
Timo Werner went so far as to say that he enjoys partnering with the offensive midfielder.
The maestro, who was born in Coventry but has been out with an injury since January, played with poise and composure in a 3-2 victory against Brentford.
After Maddison’s comeback, Tottenham have gone 3-0 with a tie in their last five games. They are now in fifth place, five points behind fourth, and have a game in hand.
Keeping the playmaker healthy will be crucial if Spurs are to reclaim their spot in the UEFA Champions League this year.
