26yr old drops hint he wants to swap Spurs for another English club in Summer

Joe Rodon is having an incredible season while on loan at Leeds United, and he has now given the greatest indication yet that he will sign a long-term contract with the team at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Rodon has only made 24 appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt) since joining Tottenham in 2020, and he has never quite succeeded in cementing his place in the starting lineup in North London.

Rodon returned to the Championship, where he first made an impression all those years ago, this season after a lacklustre loan stint with French team Rennes the previous year. Rodon is now a member of Leeds United.

The Welshman has been a constant presence for Leeds as the Yorkshire team pushes for an early promotion back to the Premier League.

Rodon’s personal future may also depend on that promotion. Previous reports have indicated that the defender would be eager to make his stay in the top division permanent if the team were to regain entry to it (Football Insider).

The man himself has already said as much, implying in his most recent remarks to Leeds Live that he would want to play in the Premier League with his present teammates.

“It seems like a really nice kind of journey if we did get there [the Premier League],” he said. All of the trips we’ve taken have brought us to this point. To be playing together in the Premier League, in my opinion, would be fantastic for the group as a whole.

The Championship is an intriguing division, and I think Leeds will just miss out on automatic promotion by finishing in the top two. In any case, I believe Rodon will play in the Premier League come next year, Leeds or not.
