Best in the world: Pedro Porro and James Maddison blown away by 25yr old Tottenham player yesterday
Tottenham overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Crystal Palace 3-1 and maintain their push for a Champions League berth.
Ebere Eze’s incredible free kick put Palace ahead, and Ange Postecoglou’s team had to demonstrate mental toughness once more to prevail.
In the end, Spurs found it rather easy to seal the comeback victory with goals from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero, and Heung-Min Son.
Naturally, huge defender Romero doesn’t exactly see his name on the scoresheet as much as Werner and Son do.
But his teammates at Tottenham were ready to give him credit after he scored yesterday and put up another outstanding performance. Following Romero’s victory celebration on Instagram, prominent figures like as Pedro Porro, Manor Solomon, and James Maddison showered the defender with love in the comments section.
In fact, Porro went so far as to declare in Spanish that Romero is the world’s best center back. What a statement the right-back made!
Romero is now Tottenham’s real boss.
After the match, Ange Postecoglou talked about the goals scored by the leaders of the Tottenham team, and Romero is undoubtedly one of them.
He can truly be Tottenham’s main player at times, and today’s header to put them ahead came just after Werner’s equalizer.
Romero has a great history of finding the net occasionally for Spurs, and he has grown to be such a vital member of the squad that it is difficult to picture Spurs without him these days.
Spurs genuinely have one of the top defensive duos in the league at the moment with Micky van de Ven.
And that defensive alliance will have been just as important as anything else if they manage to secure that coveted top four position.
